Mbroh & NTMWD Receive Engineering Excellence National Recognition Award

Mbroh Engineering and the North Texas Municipal Water District have been awarded the Engineering Excellence National Recognition Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies. The winning project effort included electrical design at NTMWD’s Wilson Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project won top honors in the state competition from ACEC Texas and advanced to national to compete amongst the best energy design projects in the nation.

The award-winning design included a new power yard with a main medium voltage paralleling switchgear that parallels multiple medium voltage generators with two electrical utility power services. This  project is one of NTMWD’s largest electrical generation systems at this time that parallels with a power company and provides plant-wide power reliability. The project provides a fully redundant power source plant-wide via overhead distribution and required extensive coordination with project stakeholders and state agencies.
