Office Creek Pump Station Well #4 and Wynnwood Pump Station

Client: City of the Colony

Cost: $295,000 (Less than $5M)

Service Category: Electrical Engineering; Instrumentation & Controls Engineering; SCADA & Automation

Mbroh designed a new submersible well pump located at the Office Creek Pump Station and miscellaneous improvements at the Wynnwood Peninsula Pump Station. This project was in response to varying intermediate flow rates at small and large pumps on site. The team’s services included design of underground electrical duct banks, a geotechnical report, structural design for pad, installation of site lighting, coordination with the power company, and design coordination with pre-purchased variable frequency drives (VFD), a phase-shifting transformer and a step-up transformer.

The project also included SCADA integration services to support the new pump design with a Cimplicity HMI server/client hardware and software upgrade, Modicon PLC processor upgrade, PLC code conversion from Concept to Unity software, and installation and programming new SCADAPack RTUs.

Served as prime consultant for all phases of planning, design, construction services and integration programming services

Also provided engineering services during construction

Project initiated due to varying intermediate flow rates at small and large pumps on site

Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) improved consistency of flow rates

Accomplished improved pumping conditions by adding a VFD to one of the 1,000 GPM pumps
