Process Control System at Central Wastewater Treatment System

Client: City of Dallas; Dallas Water Utilities

Cost: $10-$20M

Service Category: SCADA & Automation

Mbroh provided development and design services for updating the Bristol Process Control System (PCS) located at DWU’s Central Wastewater Treatment System. Through implementation of a modern system upgrade, DWU has improved operational response and reduced start-up time, operation and maintenance costs.

Overall, Mbroh evaluated the existing PCS infrastructure and configuration to determine elements of the new design. This process included document review to evaluate critical system infrastructure, determine PLC architecture and equipment, and identify additional upgrades needed to convert the PCS to Intellution iFix, Human Machine Interface, used at other DWU treatment plants. In addition to development and design oversight of the new PCS system, Mbroh also provided Programmable Logic Controller and HMI programming services.
